  • Crashes with Interactive

Getting a good amount of Bugsplat crashes when editing lights and emitter materials with IR is running (non GPU).

    Hello, Matthew,

Does the issue occur only with a specific scene?
Is it reproducible when only V-Ray and no other 3rd-party extensions are enabled in SketchUp?
Are you doing anything specific - renaming lights, moving their position, etc? Any step-by-step description would be greatly appreciated!

Next time this happens, please leave SketchUp closed, go to %APPDATA%\Chaos Group\V-Ray 3.4 for SketchUp, and share with us what the VRayForSketchUp.log text file contains.

    Kind regards,
    Peter Chaushev

        Thanks for the feedback!
I'll get back with an update when there's any development.

        Kind regards,

Another - IR render - editing an IES light and then moving to a Scene tab.

We recently release 3.40.04. The release includes some minor fixes that are mainly on the UI side, so even though updating to 3.40.04 probably won't resolve your issue we should make sure we're both working off the same build. That said, unfortunately the logs don't show any crash information. Do you think you could provide us with a model and steps to reproduce?

Alternatively you can try generating a crash dump that might help us. Try running the following command in a terminal to start sketchup with LLDB. It should create a file called "SketchUpProcessDump.txt" in your folder. Replace "2017" for whatever your SketchUp version is
              lldb /Applications/SketchUp\ 2017/SketchUp.app/Contents/MacOS/SketchUp -b -o run -k bt -k exit > ~/SketchUpProcessDump.txt
