  • Two sided material + fur

    Hi,

today I tried to use fur as grass with two sided material and I noticed strange behavior.

    I made:
    1. generic material with only diffuse color
    2. two sided material with previous made material (without any other changes)
    3. applied this material for two planes and fur

And here is my result. Grass become transparent.

edit: I found that Vray fur is made from cones (geometry with thickness) and it mean that 2sided material is not good idea to put on it.

      Hello,

If you use a Hair material instead of 2-sided, when applied on VRayFur, the fur strands will be rendered as flat surfaces instead of tubes. This is intended behavior.
Alternatively, you can disable Settings > Raytrace (advanced view) > System > Embree, however I strongly recommend following the first suggestion instead.

      Kind regards,
      Peter
