  • Artefacts in render

    HI There

I am occasionally getting these little white square artefacts in my renders. It only seems be on certain types of surface and is exacerbated by the denoiser.

Hybrid rendered to 'High' setting, VRAY 3.6.03

heres the RGB and the denoised result..
the kitchen units are affected and also the table top in the second image (although to a lesser degree)

    Cheers
    Rob

    Hello, Rob,
This occurs when a pixel with abnormally high color value is being denoised. Such "fireflies" can be toned down by lowering the value of Settings > Raytrace (advanced view toggled on) > Optimizations > Max Ray Intensity. Use a region render and experiment with different numbers until the Denoiser artifacts are gone.
Additionally, there is another option - Subpixel Clamp. This, however, is sort of a last resort fix so better try toning down the fireflies through Max Ray Intensity.

    Kind regards,
    Peter
