Is there a reason lens effects settings in the VFB are not saved with the skp file? Is there a way to get them to save so that I don’t have to set them every time I reopen the file and go to render?

Lens effects settings not saved with file?

Hello,
There is currently no way to save/load Lens Effects settings. They have to be manually adjusted each session.
The developers are aware of this limitation and are looking into possible implementations to allow such functionality.
Kind regards,

There is no plan to detach the Lens effects feature from the VFB.
With the release of V-Ray Next for SketchUp, Lens effects settings are now individually saved within each SketchUp project. This eliminates the need to save them manually per project but the downside is it does not allow storing and transferring settings presets between scenes.
A separate solution for this functionality is on our to-do list but there is no ETA yet.
If you have any additional feature requests or suggestions, please post them here!
Kind regards,

For some reason, that is not working for me. I have Next, and it shows the new lens effects settings, but it does not seem to load either the on/off state for lens effects or any customized lens effects settings when I either load an existing sketchup file or switch between open sketchup files.
In other words, aside from the new layout of the lens effects settings in the VFB, the behavior seems to be the same as before.

We were unable to track down this behavior. If you are still able to reproduce it, could you please send a simple project to support@chaosgroup.com? A scene with a plane, a sphere light and custom lens effects values would suffice.
Kind regards,
