  • Dome Light - Scaling

My dome light component keeps scaling itself down like when Alice drinks the shrinking potion. I thought it was deleted (several times) but it turns out that it scales itself down to 5mm. If I scale it back up, it just scales back down when I reopen the file.

I also noticed that the arrow on the dome light component is facing the opposite way or at least how you would understand how the arrow would work (for most HDRI setups).

    Hello,
This issue occurs only with certain scenes using one of the early V-Ray Next Beta builds. To prevent a project's lights from shrinking any further, please load the file, open the Ruby console and paste the following line:

    Sketchup.active_model.set_attribute("VRayInfo", "version", 40000)

Once done, save the file and the issue will be no longer reproducible.
If you have light widgets which have shrunk too much (not visible in viewport), please delete them via the V-Ray Asset Editor and recreate them manually.

Regarding the Dome Light widget arrow - its direction marks the horizontal mid point of the texture projection.

    Kind regards,
    Peter
