  • Text on glass?

Proberbly a simple question with a simple answer, but I cant figure it out.

If I have a facade with a large glassarea, how can I add a logo on the glass, but using materials only?

I have tried to add an a simple face just offset from the glass - added a genetic material to this face, and then use a opacity map to clip out the text.

But is it possible at make the text be like 50% transparency / adjustable?

I guess Im actually looking for a way to mix two materials, and adjusting them via a texture map - bit I cant find a mix material to use

    Thanks
    Jorgensen

You can use BlendMtl for that purpose, it allows creating a layered materials (mixing two or more materials).
You can assign a clear-glass shader to the Base layer, and then you can add a Coat layer with text on it.
Then with Blend Color you can control the transparency of the Coat layer over the Blend one.

Here is how it works Click image for larger version Name:	2019-05-30_11-50-48.gif Views:	1 Size:	2.63 MB ID:	1037644

And here is the Sketchup file:

I prefer using b&w masks for that purpose, so i can position the text any position i want.. Somethimes i use two diffuse layer with opacity mask.. I have a tutorial on youtube..
