  • Preset materials- closed lock icons?

    Hi,

New to Vray for Sketchup. I paid for software after loving the trial, and am perplexed about the lock icons by the categories in the preset materials list in the Asset-Editor. Do these indicate there are more materials available at a different subscription level? If so, how do I unlock these? I'm sure it's something xcompletely obvious but it';s escaping me!

    Thanks, Dave

    Hello, Dave,
The preset material categories are "locked" to indicate they cannot be deleted.
The V-Ray library allows users to add their own assets via the "Add a new file system location" button at its bottom-left corner.
Keep in mind that if you delete (right-click>Delete) an asset from the library, that asset is deleted from the system. If you remove a folder (right-click>Close) from the Asset Editor, it is removed only from the assets list and is not deleted from your system.

The documentation page was just updated to amend this confusion: https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/...terial+Library

    Kind regards,
    Peter

      Hi Peter,

Thanks for the quick response! Well noted... the closed padlock icon suggested that there were additional features to be had, at least in my mind!

      Thanks again!
