Weird lens effect in glass table top

I built a glasstop table and the top is creating a strange lens effect. I'm sure it's the relationship of the 2 planes of the glass material. I tried deleting the underside of the top, different glass materials, etc. Any help on the material settings to get it just translucent without the lens effect happening?

There may be two reasons for this:

1. The glass material's IOR (Index of Refraction) value is below 1. Most common types of glass usually have an IOR of ~1.5.
2. The top or bottom faces of the glass tabletop are flipped. Make sure both sides have their front sides facing outward, not inward.

Hi again, Peter! Thanks for the help. I tried both solutions you gave and neither worked. I did get it resolved, by deleting the old top, and creating a new one. A curious thing happened, that I'm sure you'll immediately recognize... and is probably the reason the fixes didn't have effect... I made a new shape to create a top outside of the group, but didn't yet apply a material to it. I opened the group, deleted the old top, and pasted in the new top I made. What was weird was when I did, it appeared in the glass material of the old top. So I undid that, and pasted the new top outside of the group, and in it appeared without material. I applied the new material, and rendered it. It looks perfect now. Thanks again for the support!

It sounds like the glass material was applied on the tabletop group, not individual faces. Why it did not work the first time you've introduced the remodeled top face, I can only guess at this point. If you happen to keep a copy of the original table, please send it over at support@chaosgroup.com for investigation.
