  • The best place to find 3D rendering materials?

Hello gang, I was wondering the best place to find 3D rendering materials besides the sketchup warehouse. I am in need of high quality ones especially for bedding to put on beds.

I have been looking online but would love to hear what you guys have to say?

    Thanks so much!

    Hi,

You could check out the VRscan materials. The trial gives you the VRscans plugin and unlimited access to the VRscans library free for 90 days.

Check out 3dsky and turbo squid. I sometimes buy models just to use the textures. Not sure how experienced you are, but once you find a few materials that work really good, you can use them as templates or starting points, then just tweak color and switch out textures for what you’re needing. If you can find what you need on vrscans, they are 2nd to none...basically look just like real life and are plug and play. Sketchup texture has a good repository of seamless patterns and poliigon is my ‘go-to’ for textures...all maps are included with choice of resolution and workflow (spec/gloss or metal/roughness).

Thank you Pablo! Would I have to make maps for the wood textures from textures club? I have only ever downloaded materials from polligon and they have the maps already. It looks like textures.com just have the diffuse color map? Is this correct?

            Thank you!

as you can tell I am very NEW to Vray!!

              Hi Jay

Yes, you're more or less right. Some textures, the most up to date, from sketchuptextureclub.com come with all maps (disp, normal, specular and Occlusion) for pbr materials and the oldest have only diffuse map. Textures from textures.com (but PBR ones that come with all maps) come just with diffuse bitmap, and you have to do some adjusts to get the other maps.

Textures.com has recently started producing PBR Textures....you can filter selection thru menu on the left. You can download normal & roughness maps, as well as '.sbs' file.
