  • Procedural Textures

Hi all apologies this may be quite obvious but how do you undo your procedural texture changes and revert back to the original texture? At the moment i have to reinsert the materiel or build from scratch again...
Is there an undo for a process you have just applied... Many thanks in advance

    Hi yellow mustard,

In general the SketchUp Undo should work for most things.
You just have to focus SU and Ctrl+Z after that.
Unfortunately not every time you do Undo we get notified by SU that a shader property has changed.
Because of this, sometimes you have to Undo a couple of times and the changes will be reverted in batches.

I'd also recommend you have the latest V-Ray build installed.
We've just released an update yesterday in which some Undo issues have been addressed (V-Ray Next for SketchUp, update 2.1).
You can download it from here:
    https://download.chaosgroup.com/?platform=56&product=47

There are two more things to consider:

    1. Color and number value slots have a built in Reset capability. Just right-click on the slot and Reset it.

    2. You can also click on the Checker icon on the left of the texture name (in the properties panel) and select the same map from the menu. This will also let you strat fresh.

      Hi Konstantin
Thanks for getting back to me.. forgive me.. In your first point what does SU relate to?
Thanks for the download and again I'm not really following points 3a and 3b....

If i use a pre existing floor laminate then wrap in a 'spline curve' - then want to reset it as i don't like where it has gone - i can't see how i can do it....
With any of the points above unless i am not following..

      Thanks

        Hi,

'SU' refers to 'SketchUp'. Excuse me for that!

What you have described is in fact a problem.
You'll have to do the following which is obviously sub optimal:
        - Globalize the Spline input / child texture (right click > Globalize)
        - Copy it (right click > Copy)
        - Replace the Spline as I suggested earlier
        - Paste the map in the new Spline slot as a Copy... You'll be left with 1 useless global map that can be just deleted

Resetting all the values of a texture, without deleting its children will come in handy here.
I'll actually log this as a feature request.

        Thanks for pointing this out!

        Regards,
