  • Status on Vray 5

    Hi

Any status on the beta release of Vray 5 for Sketchup?
Our office is considering upgrading to Vray next, but it would be a bummer if we needed to upgrade to Vray 5 soon after.
I've read that 3ds max users, who has purchased Vray Next at the beta announcement of Vray 5, have been eligible to a free upgrade.
Will that also be the case with Vray 5 for sketchup?

    Cheers.

I use and like Vray Next for Sketchup very much, and I wonder what is the difference between Vray 5 and Vray Next?

RunesMAK, I would be very careful about when you buy a new license. Chaos Group SCREWED me on a brand new purchase of Vray 3.6......I had to pay full price to upgrade to Vray Next just a few months later because they quit supporting Vray 3...(couldn't upgrade to the new Sketchup that was just released). It was a HUGE slap in the face to a loyal Vray user and I lost a lot of respect for Chaos Group (and a lot of loyalty). Read these threads below for the full story. If they treat long time customers like this, you can imagine how they may treat someone new. If you've heard a lot about how great CG will treat you....flush that down the drain......those were the old days. They are just another big company now.

Just be ready to pay full price to upgrade for the new Vray very soon, or stay on the last year's version of Sketchup infinitely. (Also notice that Vray is upgrading 'major' versions sooner, while adding less in these major upgrades...(and of course, charging more and more...))
