  • Where is "Alpha Contribution" in Vray Next for SU?

Previous version has this feature called "alpha contribution" in Materials where you can set to 0 or 1 so you can have alpha channel on your model when render. Wonder where is this feature is in the new version? or is it called differently?

You can refer to this post about the subject. Also updated link for Wrapper material in V-Ray Next for SketchUp you can find here.

Thanks Nikoleta, I've been to both places you mentioned. I see you need to create a new wrapper material for Alpha contribution to appear. Can I turn an existing material that is already in the model to a "Wrapper" material rather than create a new one so I can have the alpha contribution setting? As you can see from my screen shot, non of my material has the "Wrapper" material setting where I can adjust alpha contribution.

Yes, that is the idea behind the Wrapper material as it is used to specify additional surface properties per material. I've tried to prepare a visual example for you here. Hope it makes it more clear.

Nikoleta, the clip you provided shows how to create new material assets, it just creates a new wrapper material. Doesn't show how my existing materials can have this wrapper additional surface properties you mentioned,

          Thanks.

You will need to create a new Wrapper material and from there add your existing materials to get the additional properties
