Is it possible for a light to not affect the reflection, specular & diffuse of a particular material? In this case, I do not want the spherical lights placed inside the shower to be reflected on the mirror material. Is this possible wth vray 5 for sketchup?
    Thanks

    Hi manishpaul_simon,

This is not possible to do - and generally light exclude options would hamper accuracy. In your scenario disabling the Affect Reflections option from the VRayLight should suffice.

      Hi manishpaul_simon,

What Nikoleta said is correct - light linking is not possible in V-Ray for SketchUp.
The main reason for that is it'll be quite complicated to manage and might lead to confusion.

On the other hand, the Options in the V-Ray lights are something you can take a look at - docs.

Also, can you describe in more details what you're after and how would light linking help?

      Thank you in advance,
      Konstantin

        Hi,
Apologies for not getting back sooner.

I was looking for an option to let the light only include a certain object or group like shown below in 3ds max.
This way, the light won't affect the other objects and it will help improve the darker areas of the space.

Light linking is not currently on our roadmap.

However adding invisible lights to fill dark areas is still possible.
Just position the light precisely and make sure it's invisible.
You should also consider using Omni lights for this since they are just points in space that don't have a physical shape.
Just disable their Affect Specular option and you're good to go.
The Omni light also has the ability to decay in a non-realistic way, something potentially useful in your case.

          Regards,
          Konstantin
