  • Downloading materials in asset editor?

I recently installed v-ray 5 for sketchup. While downloading the materials, I accidentally pressed the 'continue' button. I reinstalled v-ray again, but I'm not getting the option to download the online material library .

I took the screenshot from v-ray documentation.

    How can I get it?

I went here to read more but there's no solution to my query.

    Hi rock9,

Upon pressing Cancel while downloading the assets, a message will show that the download was incomplete. You will once more be prompted to download the assets, or alternatively, keep only the existing assets (by clicking Continue: see screenshot). If you select Continue, you will not see the Download button for the current session anymore, however, you should be able to see an option to Check for content updates: http://ftp.chaosgroup.com/support/sc...9_12-48-32.jpg. If that's not the case, try the following:
    • Close all SketchUp sessions
    • The Preset Material Library should be saved \Documents\V-Ray Material Library\ on Windows, or in ~/Library/Application Support/ChaosGroup/V-Ray Material Library on macOS. Navigate yourself to the corresponding place and delete the V-Ray Material Library folder. Open a fresh SketchUp project and then the V-Ray Asset Editor - you should be able to download the assets
Please let me know if that doesn't work. In such a situation, best would be to contact us so we can schedule a remote session and see what has gone wrong.

Thanks! This worked. I made the download finally. However, I can't seem to find any difference between the range of materials V-ray 4 had (and the default pre-installed library of version 5) and this 8GB library has. Any way to compare the both?

The updated library comes with 4K textures (hence the increased overall size).
Some materials' structure is updated (adjusted parameters using the latest workflows; texture maps share the same UVWs for easy tweaking).
Additionally, making the library assets downloadable allows us to easily add new ones making them accessible for everyone right away without requiring a new V-Ray update to be installed.

        Kind regards,
        Peter
