  • How do we check the object ID of a material or group in Sketchup?

    Hi,

I know how to assign an object ID to a group which is by right clicking on a group > Vray > Set Object ID.

How do we check the object ID of a group or material? I couldn't find this option in the Vray Asset Editor of the Material or anywhere else?

    Thanks.

    Hi manishpaul_simon,

You can check the Object ID by selecting an object, right-click > V-Ray Object Selection > Selection > Set () - where the corresponding ID number should appear in the brackets. You will also have an option to select all objects with the same ID, change the ID, or remove it altogether. If a given object hasn't an ID number assigned, you will be prompted to set an ID number.

Moreover, by going to V-Ray Object Selection > Project you will be able to see all ID numbers used within the project and you will, once again, have the option to Set/Remove/Select them.

I've prepared a short gif for a better visual understanding: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1BhK...ew?usp=sharing
    Hope that helps!

        Hi manishpaul_simon,

You can also use the Scene Interaction Tool (more info here) to inspect object IDs (hovering your mouse over them).
