  • Is there an option to apply light only to a certain material or object?

    Hi,

Is there an option in Vray 5 for sketchup, to create lights and let it affect only a particular object or material and not the whole scene.

I couldn't find any option in the light settings to include/exclude objects in vray 5 for sketchup.

This feature would increase creative capabilities even more.

    Thanks,
    Manish

    Hi,

    I've answered the question here:
    https://forums.chaosgroup.com/forum/...light-settings

Light linking is not currently on our roadmap.

However adding invisible lights to fill dark areas is still possible.
Just position the light precisely and make sure it's invisible.
You should also consider using Omni lights for this since they are just points in space that don't have a physical shape.
Just disable their Affect Specular option and you're good to go.
The Omni light also has the ability to decay in a non-realistic way, something potentially useful in your case.
