  • How do I add a grid to my Vray Frame Buffer or Sketchup Window?

    Hi,

In Max, we have scripts called ImagComp to add a grid to our windows. Is this possible even in sketchup or Vray frame buffer?

This would help in composing our images better.

I tried adding a png to the background layer in vray frame buffer window. But the area without pixels in the png image shows up as white. I'll need to reduce opacity for this to work. But it isn't too useful.

    Hi manishpaul_simon,

You can use a EXR (32 bit) file instead of a png.
here's an example grid image file:
    grid2.zip

And here's what it looks like in the VFB:

Name:	vfb_grid.jpg
Views:	1885
Size:	189.1 KB
ID:	1100116

    Hope that helps,
    Konstantin

I create a 'Style' in sketchup with a 'rule of thirds' png, overlaid as a watermark. I use the ROT style while composing scenes, then switch back to regular style to save scene. Haven't thought of trying this in the VFB...thanks for the tip!
