    Hello, leotchest ,
You can currently use the V-Ray Material library to store folder structures filled with your own V-Ray assets.
Each asset, Proxy Meshes included, can be saved as a .vrmat file together with all of its referenced files (.vrmesh source files in the case of Proxy Meshes) and then loaded back in V-Ray either directly or through the material library.
With all this said, our developers are working on some major improvements related to this topic. Stay tuned!

    Kind regards,
    Peter

Save a proxy mesh as a vrmat file ? I cannot see from the help files how to achieve this. Is it described anywhere ?
The other thing i noticed, while im playing around with the handling of assets, when i export a vrscene from 3dsMax (even if its just a single teapot), nothing happens when i import it into vray. no geometry at all gets imported.

Regarding the saving of Proxy Mesh assets as .vrmat files - simply select an asset and use the Save button located at the bottom of the V-Ray Asset Editor ( https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/...Editor-Buttons )
As for the vrscene from 3ds max not being imported, please open the Ruby console (Window > Ruby Console) and attempt to reimport it. See if any errors are printed. Additionally, it would help if you are able to share the original scene (or at least the vrscene file exported from it) for investigation. You can submit it at https://www.chaosgroup.com/help/cont.../scene#options

        Kind regards,

i dont get any error messages in the ruby console. i'll try & upload the scene. Also i cant see a way to use the asset editor as a browser for proxy objects. It doesnt give any thumbnail and after i add a vrmat to geometry, it wont allow me to drag & drop into the scene. Maybe im just barking up the wrong tree

When you submit the scene to our Support team, please make sure to describe in detailed steps the issue with proxy import you mentioned.

Regarding thumbnails of Geometry assets - live preview snapshots are not available. Instead, the thumbnails use generic asset type images.
