  • GPU Rendering Warning Message

    Hello to all,
when I launch a render in RTX mode, I have this message displayed in the "LOG" tab

"Warning: SettingsRTEngine::gpu_light_cache is deprecated. Light cache is always calculated on the GPU when V-Ray GPU is used for rendering"

    What does that mean exactly?
    Windows 10 - RTX 3090 - AMD Ryzen 9 5950X - 128 Go RAM
    Sketchup PRO 24.0.594 + V-Ray 7.00.01
    3DS Max 2024.2.3 + V-Ray 6.20.06
    3DS Max 2025.3 + V-Ray 7.00.04
    Chaos Vantage 2.6.2
GeForce Studio Ready Driver Version 566.14

    Hi DCHA34 ,

    This warning message is harmless.
We basically had an option that enabled or disabled GPU Light Cache used internally for testing.
At one point the option was deprecated and now its state no longer matters - now when one of the CUDA or RTX engines is used the Light Cache GI is always calculated on the GPU.
The warning message that the option got deprecated was never removed.

I'll log this as an issue and hopefully it'll get resolved easily.

    Konstantin

      Thank you.
It's really nice to have such a fast support.
