  • Help with Painted Wood Siding

I'm trying to create a realistic painted wood siding texture. I made a texture that is okay, but it isn't as realistic as I would like. I added a wood texture normal map to the bump. And then I used a color, no diffuse bitmap, in the diffuse. Does anyone have a better way to create this material? I've attached my texture as well as an example of what I'm looking for.

    Hi calvin-ode

As a advice dont forget to play with dirt textures, your wall looks like it was painted today, this kind of material needs a bit dirt textures since is outside, play with composite operator with miltiply Mode.

    I hope It helps.

Also it looks too glossy... it should look a bit more desaturated and a bit matte reflections.

      Hi calvin_ode,

Your texture actually looks pretty good.
Using a color instead of a diffuse map is the correct thing to do here.
The materal that you're after is defined mainly by its bumpiness and reflectivity.
I actually believe that your material will look similar to the ref in the right lighting conditions.
