Plexiglass like material

Hi There,

I'm struggling to make this material. It either becomes too reflectie or too dark. Can anybody help? Thanks!

Can you please share a photo reference of what kind of Plexiglass you are attempting to create? It can be clear and frosted, I suppose you need a frosted one?

Hi Natalia, yes, its should be a frosted one that is slightly transparent, but I don't have another photo reference. I particularly struggle with getting the items and lights behind it to be blurry.

Hi maarten_vis, thanks for the reference and for more information.

I am attaching a simple scene and the material that I have tested, hope this will be helpful.
Basically, I have used Cosmos Glass material and changed some settings, you can tweak them further and test what works for you.
Here is my result.

• Change Reflection Color to make reflection more visible and if you need them to be blurry lower the Reflection Glossiness.
• The same way you can control Refraction and it is a good practice to check the IOR of the material (some Plexiglass has IOR of 1.488 so I went with it, but you can change it of course)
• And I have added Volumetric Translucency, you can read more on what it is in our documentation and test results with it disabled to see the difference (especially in shadows).
