  • Vray hair material vs vray 2 sided material for the material with vray fur

    Hi

Im doing some tests and the fur with vray fur and with 2 sided material as a material for the fur looks fine.

Also with 2 sided material the hair looks like a tube, not flat which is the correct form of the rugs.

With the hair material the strands looks like a grass it is total plain.

What are the difference using both with vray fur???

If you want to do a close up render the 2 sided material looks better than the hair.

Did vray team really look at this?

    Thanks

The Hair material makes the fur strands flat when you look at them up close.
With any other material the render as tubes (and render slower).
This is a known internal behaviour and is expected.

As for the 2sided material - I just tried using it on a Fur and the lighting of the strands looks off to me.
When you zoom in close it seems the strands become semi-transparent and in some situations they appear glowing.
    I wouldn't recommend this workflow.
