  • Saving .vrmat files without exporting texture maps and relinks

    Hi all,

As we're reworking our library on the server we stumbled across the perfect solution to organize our materials except for a small hiccup.

When exporting a .vrmat file, Vray also exports the texture maps and relinks them to this newly saved location.
However we don't want Vray to export the texture maps and relink them, the maps are already in a centralized location where we want them to stay. Is this a possibility or a setting we're overlooking?

Unfortunately this is not currently possible.
The option can certainly be added we just have to design a good UX.

Yes, please. This would be very helpful!

I think it would definitely be a good addition for the power users and studios building libraries. We now run our material library through SketchUp's material browser which is definitely subpar in usability compared to Vray's material library. An easy UX way would be to just add a toggle (relink and archive maps / keep paths and don't archive maps) to the file explorer window next to the save button?

A feature request has been logged.
Finding a suitable place for the options would be the biggest challenge...
