  • Vray render (Mac) Vs Cloud Render - Noise level

    Hi ,

these 2 screenshoots are a close up of a 360 render, same resoultion, spherical camera and same settings.

The first one has been rendered with the cloud the second in house on a mac studio.
Noticed different noise level, is that possible or did i mess up the settings?

    Hi,

I suspect that the difference is due to Denoising.
In one of the cases you are looking at the denoised result, in the other - the noisy raw render.

If for example you interrupt a local production render, the denoiser would not be applied by default.
You can manually apply it in the V-Ray Frame Buffer:

Here is another example, so both are completed renders , denoiser output, the first is from cloud render, the second from mac in house

I still think that the denoiser was not applied to the local render.
Is it possible for you to share a simple SketchUp project that reproduces the issue to test on our side?

Hi Konstantin, maybe is this the parameter that wasn't checked, in that case should i check all the render elements or only the diffuse channel? how does it affect the rendering time?

              Hi philippe_grasset,

This will make no difference in your case.
No matter what, the denoiser is applied to the Beauty (rgb) pass.

I'd still suggest you prepare a simple example project and share it with us.
If this is not possible, please describe the setup you have and list the exact steps you take for rendering and saving the images.

              Thank you in advance,
              Konstantin

@konstantin_chaos the process is to lunch the render if is inhouse and to upload the same scene on the cloud, exactly same settings and same file, than in photoshop i just use the denoiser output and there you can see the difference...
i exported a scene if that may help > https://we.tl/t-0StluWEExn

                  Hi philippe_grasset,

Thank you for the additional information and example.
It appears that the difference in those 2 images is actually the reflection in the metal.
On the left there is something brighter reflected, while on the right a dark object/area is being reflected instead.

I would need the project files to see what exactly is happening.
However, the link you shared doesn't work.
Can you please reupload the file and I'll take a look.

                  Regards,
                  Konstantin
