    Hello tanis_paul!
    Welcome in Chaos Forums!

A way to achieve the Sun Light going inside a model without openings is to apply a Generic material on the surface, where you want the light from. Then add an attribute Raytrace Properties in the material and disable the Cast Shadows options, depending on the results you want to achieve - also disable the Visible to Camera, Visible in Reflections, Visible in Refractions options.

    A simple example:

For more detailed assistance, you can send us your packed project (V-Ray>Pack Project...) through our support portal (https://support.chaos.com/hc/en-us/requests/new) with the link from this forum topic in the message.

      Hi tanis_paul,

Can you describe your model in more details or share it for testing on our side?
Sharing a simplified version of the model is the best way to help us answer your question quickly and precisely.
