  • Illuminated Acrylic Effect

    Hi everyone!

We are trying to render a woodworking project (a table) that has illuminated acrylic legs.
    Attached is a reference image.

However, when trying to create this effect similar to the reference image, the result is not turning out as expected.
We are using the acrylic material from the Chaos Cosmos library, and for the LED effect itself, we are using a rectangular light.

Also attached is the detailed woodworking design to better explain the system we are trying to reproduce in the visualization.

Does anyone have any technical suggestions on how to achieve an effect similar to the reference image?

    Hello silviabitelliarquiteturaeinteriore_silviabitelliar

    You can try the following:
    • Set the rectangular light's directionality to 1 (may need to reduce intensity)
    • Set the Acrylic material's Refraction > Fog Color to 0.99 white (Hue 0, Saturation 0, Value 0.99), increase the Depth according to the model, and set Translucency to Volumetric. Turn on Reflection > Back Side Reflect.
Here is a hastily done approximation of the reference image. Hope it helps:
