  • issue with textures in SketchUp 25 + V-Ray 7

is anyone else having this issue with textures in SketchUp 25 + V-Ray 7? when i apply a material from my V-Ray library, like a porcelain tile for example, the texture automatically becomes square, loses quality, and 'disappears' from the SketchUp texture slot... also, when i "wrap in" the "color correction" through v-ray, the texture color also changes automatically in sketchup, and this didn’t happen in previous versions.

The way V-Ray materials are displayed in the SU viewport is more accurate and simplified in the latest V-Ray versions.
However in order to achieve this we had to change the way we "Bind" the two.
    - The old Auto texture binding mode has been removed - It was searching for a bitmap in the diffuse map slot shader and was using it for SU display.
    - Baking V-Ray procedural maps is now the default Auto behaviour.
    - The Texture helper mode is removed - Use Custom and an empty map slot for the same effect.

Note that you can always disable the Texture binding checkbox and use any custom texture you like on the SU side - it'll only show in the viewport.

Also, please describe the exact steps and issues you are experiencing and we'll consider improving this aspect of the workflow further.

    Regards,
    Konstantin
