  • Skethup + Vray Material Link

How do I link a sketchup material applied to my model with a Vray material? If I update the Vray material will SU material In the scene update?

Nevermind, I figured it out. It's under the vray material editor, right click add vraylinkedmat.

Yep - you got it. Sorry for the delay - I've been away from the forum for most of the week.

Re: Skethup + Vray Material Link

On the subject of vray linked material, I seem to have problem revising the material -- I updated the diffused color, previewed it alright. Then I clicked on other materials to revise, and when I click on the first material again, the color stayed what it was when it was linked from SK. Any thoughts?

The Linked material always gets the diffuse layer from the SketchUp material. If you see a little red ball next to the layer name that means its read-only. The link between VRayLinkedMtl and the SketchUp material is always there - so if you want to change that diffuse color you need to change it via SketchUp's material editor. Any other layers you may add to the linked material can be edited by you - as long as you don't see a red ball next to the layer name you can do whatever you want to that layer.
