  • Transparent Mapping issue

    Hello,
I'm trying to do a simple thing :
transparent mapping of the silhouette of a tree.
I can do it in the material Studio ( the one downloaded ).

As V-Ray doesn't permit the UVW tranformation, I created a new material in SU, placed and corrected the JPG and then created the Vray Linked Mat.
I applied the same settings that I had in the Studio but the result is different..and totally wrong.. it is just a diffuse opaque material.

What do I do wrong ?

    Thanks

    Re: Transparent Mapping issue

hmm - I think the problem might be caused because of how our linked material works. It makes it so you can not edit the diffuse layer ( since it is being grabbed from the SketchUp material ). I remember Corey helped someone with a similar issue in the past. I'll see if I can dig that up to see if he has a solution for this issue

      MMh Thanks Joe.
That's what I figured out.. with the red dot for the diffuse layer. :

Do you have any plan to include an UVW transformer in Vray for the futur release ?

INSTEAD OF USING JPG. I HEAR THAT PNG OR TIFF ARE REALLY GOOD FOR MASKING OBJECTS. TRY IT AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS.

We want to integrate with SketchUp's existing uv tools in a better fashion than we currently do. But I don't know if we will be making our own custom uv tools.
