  • problems with vray linked materials

helou, I studied vray for sketchup manual, and still have some questions.
I put a texture in sketchup and then tried to put on transparency and displacement maps. Looks like it is imposible to do something with sketchup textures unles you want to add bump or reflection.
Distorted skechup textures in vray looks undestorted. Sun light doesn't make caustic's shadows (they look like shadow of solid object).
Maby there is someone who could help me?

Re: problems with vray linked materials

There are some tricky things with our uvw mapping in the current product. Right now you can only rely on "Explicit UVW Channels" if you have a Sketchup texture applied to the object. If this is not the case then you will get completely incorrect uvw results and will just get a sort of random speckled looking texture. You can, however, make use of our other uvw generators ( planar / object mapping ).

I've the same problem - i tried to rotate, size etc. texture in Sketchup but in Vray nothing happend...

Solution: I had to REVERSE FACES - and then rotate texture and now everything is OK
