  • Buying vray....

    Hey,
We are considering buying vray at my company. I have some question: what about updates? Are they going to be free after you bought vray? What about phys cam settings called vertical shift? When are those functions going to be in vray? That is a very important function when you are an architect.

Choosing "One" from the Serial Number menu below, will give you only one serial number.
Choosing "Multiple" from the Serial Number menu, will give you however many you choose in quantity.
i.e.) You purchase a quantity of five and chose "Multiple" from the Serial Number menu then you will get five serial numbers that can be used on one machine each. Now if you were to chose "One" you would get one serial number that can be used on up to five machines.

Does that mean if you buy one serial it is possible to use it on up to five machines at the same time?

    Thanks

    Re: Buying vray....

As far as updates there will be minor (or major as was the last one) updates that will be released from time to time. Those would be free. New versions of the software (ie Vfsu 2.0) would not be free. However, there would be a upgrade price which would be less than regular price.

The vertical shift setting is already available.

It means that if you want 5 copies you can choose whether you want 5 unique serial numbers or 1 serial number that can be used 5 times. Either way you still have to pay for 5 seats of V-Ray.

We are working on a floating licensing system that would allow V-Ray to be used on different machines provided the license would not be used at the same time.

Then for quantity you would put two and for serial number you would put multiple.

any ideas when your network license will be available, we run 2 copies of sketchup but would only really require 1 copy of Vray an any one time, I dont mind buying one license now (if the network one is not available) providing we can convert it to a network one when thats available, if thats possible ??

We're working on that, along with a service release to fix some outstanding bugs, right now. I'm hoping to have them wrapped up before summer ends or sooner.

We will have some means of converting a standalone license to the floating system. There is a large majority of our users who would prefer the floating license.
