how can i make a bitmap material darker?

Hello,
I am new with materials in vray. I placed a wood material in my model. but its a bit to light. How can i make it a bit darker? its a stupid question but i really cant find a setting what makes it darker.

When you open the Texture editor (where you added the map) underneath Type is the Multiplier. By default it is 1, but if you lower it (to .9 for example) that will darken the map.
