Tree 2 (Image imported to sketchup, exploded, made component, linked Vray Mtl with alpha applied + Backgroung enabled with the same alpha image = works!!!)

So, now that i know that i have a question: Do i have to do all this process everytime i want to insert a tree or a person in my model? I mean, the only way to make something like our private RPC collection for sketchup is:

-Step 1: Make a collection of trees, vegetation, people or whatever for sketchup (face- me components, like the 1st image tree)

    - Step 2: Make a material for each one of those components with the vray external material editor to link to sketchup components when we want to achieve transparence effect.

    ?????????

Thanks for your way to do clip mapping, jethro.berry!!!
Please make a tutorial to make a tree like that. Thank you very much.

Re: Bump, Displacement & Clip Mapping

hy guys i resolved the vray displacement random problem to be in a render

i saw that in some areas of the render the v-ray displacement
was bad or assent but if i make one render whit 1 material or 1 object
the v-ray displacement make so good

the idea to resolve this problem is to make a block for every
      displace

      so for example:
if i have 1 material brick with displace and 1 material grass with dispalce
i make 1 block for all elements brick and 1 block for all element grass

      and so resolved the problem

Re: Bump, Displacement & Clip Mapping

HI, enzomatto. I've been making some test renders and you are right! it seems that displacement works! Here there are my results:

        - A is a single object. I've aplied an sketchup texture to it, then i've made an vray linked material an aply to the object. Finally, select all and make a group.

        - B and C are 2 different objects. I've aplied an sketchup texture to them, then i've made an vray linked material an aply to the objects. Finally, select each one and make 2 groups.

        - D and E are 2 different objects. I've aplied an sketchup texture to them, then i've made an vray linked material an aply to the objects. Finally, select both and make a group.

Displacement seems to work correctly, although it's quite strange on the top surface of bricks.

          And with phisical camera enabled:

It seems that shadows affect some way to the displacement. Does anyone know how?
