i was wondering if any of you had this problem...the white dots from the reflection...i wanted to ask what controls this "problem"...is it light subdivisions?...if any of you had this problem and fixed it, please let me now how. thx
Those are coming from several samples coming from a very very bright source, such as the sun. The best way to smooth those out is enabling Clamp Output and Subpixel Mapping in the Color Mapping rollout, but that will essentially throw out any information that is brighter then white. The only other way to really smooth this out is to add more samples, both for glossiness and antialiasing, although I would try each one individually and seeing if one does a bit better job smoothing it out then other (typically glossiness will, but make take longer)
Yea, it works, but depending on how much flexibility you would like to have in post production I'd advise you to only use it when you need it. Right now VfMax is supporting the ability to set your clamping level (right now all it will do is stop it at 1), which is the best of both worlds, stopping the super bright values (the ones that cause spots like that) and still having a bit of added head room for small adjustments in post.
