  • DR problem....HELP

I get this message in the render progress window.....

"Could not connect to host (xxx.xxx.x.xxx): No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it."

Our I.T. guy can't figure out what wrong.

I have the 30 day demo and would like to render a project to convince the company to buy a copy.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

    Re: DR problem....HELP

hmm xxx.xxx.x.xxx That single digit in the middle might be causing the issue. Make sure that even though the number may be expressed as 255.255.5.255 that it is inputted into vray as 255.255.005.255. I've never seen this error before, but have had errors connecting to certain machines without putting in all 3 digits.

If that doesn't help then make sure there isn't a firewall getting in the way. And That there isn't another v-ray spawner running on the machine (either a max spawner or another vfsu spawner)

There isn't too much it can be - I would check to make sure a firewall isn't blocking the dr spawner. Also - if you are running the V-Ray for 3dsmax DR Spawner it will block our DR spawner at the moment.

Thank you for your response Joe. I'll try that, just as soon as I figure out how to turn off the V-ray for 3D max DR spawner.

Any clue on how to do this?

              Re: DR problem....HELP

If you haven't manually turned it on then it shouldn't be running. But if you have turned it on I believe there should be a tray icon down around your clock that looks like the V-Ray logo. Then you would just need to right-click to exit it.

If you are using Windows Firewall then make sure you have an exception for the DRSpawner on the slave machine and an exception for SketchUp on your host machine.

Also - currently our spawner communicates on port 20204 so make sure you don't have that blocked by anything as well.
