  • GI, BG, sun, shadows

    Huh...
After a couple a trials, i found my visopts...

    1.Phyiscal camera
    check on Overide Focal Length
    Shutter speed 300
    F-number 8
    ISO 100

    2.Environment
    GI(Skylight) default
Background bitmap, multiplier 8000, UVW Environment
Reflection check on, select same bitmap of BG
    Refraction check on

    3.Caustics
    check on

That's all...it shows background hdri image and caustics of GI, shadows by SU sun, reflections of background bitmap...

    Re: GI, BG, sun, shadows

Camera settings look good. A few other pointers...The extra maps in reflection and refraction don't really matter because they are the same as the one in the background. You only really need to use those if you want something different then the background...Unless you need Caustics is a good idea to keep them off. They will cause the rendering to take a little longer, and in most situations the won't contribute very much to the final result. Glad you've found some settings that work for you.

      Thanks a lot, dalomar

reflection n refracion must be checked in my case.
reflection check on and that map spread shadows of sun.

in case of BG mapping, there's no shadows casted by sun.
so i tried to check on those two settings and very good results out.

your hints always make me happy.....

I try that one ( Vlado universal settings)
        Works OK for final renderings.

Otherwise, I use Irradiance Map and light cache.. very fast. with a subtil tweak on the global ambiance light to be warmer.

I'll post it as soon I get home
