  • bump map ??

when I apply a bumpmap to this material I downloadid form this site (wood_04_blurry). End I use it as a vray-linkt-material. to first scale it to a proper sise

the bumpmap should resize automaticly, but I get a verry stange outcome when I render it. What can I do about this..? (see the pictures)

    pleas help,

        Re: bump map ??

Most of the wood flooring examples have a very faint bump map, so maybe they will need a increased multiplier in the bump map.

As far as the best way to use the materials from the site, in SketchUp at least, is to set up the diffuse layer as a SU material, set up a linked material, and then apply any of the bump settings or reflection settings to that linked material (you can use the downloaded material as a guide). In the SR we are changing how we handle materials, so you probably won't have to go through this, but in the time being...

Your bump or displacement maps has to be in grey scale or else you will get wierd effects.
