Displacement Map Problem...

Right - it took me 2 hours from starting with displacements to get to a point where i got one to work! (attached) - but as soon as i add anything else - for example, merely drawing a rectangle off screen somewhere the displacement will fail to show? Am i doing something wrong or is there a general problem with displacements. I'm on V.1 / 6 btw.

Its a general problem. It has to do with how SU deals with geometry, so we've been looking for a solution. Hopefully we can get it resolved by the upcoming service release. As you've found out, displacement can be created, but there are instances which prevent it from working.
