  • Google 3D Warehouse Models...

    Hi, me again...

I can't get one of the models I downloaded from the google warehouse to render out with V-ray... Originally I tried applying a SketchUp material to it and I got nothing, the object just wasn't there, so then I tried applying a V-Ray texture and I got the same thing, it's not that important as it's just a model of a garden chair which I used as decoration... but i would like to understand why V-ray thinks it doesn't exist.

Thanks for any help on this...

    Ben.

    It's ok!

I managed to solve this one myself! (there's a first for everything) it appears all I needed to do was ungroup the model...still not sure why it worked, but it did!

try exploding the model of the chair if it is a component. then you can re-group or re-componentize it [that is not a real word]. i have had a lot of the same problems with models i have downloaded from others. i basically redefine the objest with in my model.
