why does the v-ray for sketchup render hang up some times? sometimes it just doesn't do anything when i click the render button. except lock up the file.

    Re: rendering

V-Ray has to get all of the information from the file that is needed to render (geometry, lights, materials, mapping). This may take a little long if you've got a lot of objects in the scene.

        Re: rendering

The material thing stems back the same issue. Material wise, it will be more noticeable if that material is applied to a number of objects or to a high poly object. Its really traced back to how SU actually stores its geometry, which isn't the prettiest thing (so I'm told). Joe has tried to do his best with speeding all of this up, but there's not anything we can really do if its related to how SU chooses to do things.
