  • Distributed rendering on a single standalone licence

Hi, the company I am working for is going to be buying a single stand alone Licence for Vray for Sketchup 6 and I was just wondering how many computers you can link up via the network? I realise that one key can be used on only one computer. but is there a seperate program that needs to be installed on the other computers that you intend to use as "render slaves" for the Distributed rendering solution?

I tried to look for other forums that addressed this question and I am sorry if this is a repeat forum.

    Regards

    Gareth

Re: Distributed rendering on a single standalone licence

When you open up the installer, at a some point (I believe a page or two in) it will ask you which type of install you would like to do; Typical or Custom. Choose Custom. At that point you will see a window on the left with a tree structure. There will be probably 3 elements; V-Ray for SketchUp, Materials, and the Render Slave. Uncheck VfSU and the materials so that you can just install the render node. After install, start it up and get the IP address and you should be set up. Repeat on whichever computers are necessary.
