  • do all vray settings carry over when you do "save as" with skp file

    could anyone help with this?
I had a vray rendering scene set up pretty well and wanted to create options for a certain stone piece in the scene so i did a "save as" and modified the stone piece slightly in profile. when i rendered it, it looked completely different from the original file. I re-assigned the material to each surface but no luck. I realized that this element is part of a component and there are issues there, so i also exploded and re-assigned the materials again to each surface..no luck. Nothing phiysical in the file changed but the stone profile, so it leads me to think that a setting in the materials changed when i did a "save as" but i can't figure it out.
    am i missing something?

Well all the settings are saved in the SU file. I'm not sure if SU has a special save option (I know Rhino has one) that will discard allot of that information, but if it did that would explain the issue. My only guess would be that if you changed the directory of the file (the location), it may still be looking for whatever maps you have (GI, environment, materials or otherwise) relative to the old file location. In which case you should try seeing if those maps are properly loaded or not, which you can find from taking a closer look at the v-ray progress window.
