    What kind of settings should I do for faster rendering? Just for tests.

    Re: Faster rendering

    Well one way, that I use, is to keep all the same settings but render to a smaller output.
    Another tip, is to enable the funny cross icon in the top right of the render window, and leave the curser on the bit of the image you are testing - that will be the area that gets its final pass first, so you can see whats going on.
    However, I'm sure there are lots of other ways, like use fast settings to start with. My http://asgvis.com/index.php?option=c...ileinfo&id=191 is about 4 times faster than some other settings, but is designed for external architectural images. So really its horses for courses - you need to decide what is important to you - and what sort of model you are rendering and what you are testing - simple isn't it!

    Good Luck

      Thanks. But I meant for something else, like "quick render" in 3D max. The more things I make are interiors scene.

        Re: Faster rendering

        here are some of my GI and AA settings that produce pretty fast results. I also will typically render at 480x320 for tests

        IR-Primary Bounces
        Min/Max = -4/-2
        HsphSubd = 30
        Everything else at Default

        LC-Secondary Bounces
        Subdiv = 400
        Sample Size = .01
        Enable Use For Glossy Rays
        Everything else at Default...Set Phases to match # of threads

        AA - Adaptive Subdivision
        Min/Max = -1/2
