  • help! why the bump reflection on windows is not clear??

    hi all
    i like the windows in my building reflect unreal view like a houses and sky.l used a bump with reflecton in the material of glass but the picture became not clear and very bad.it a same when i used a high bump pixel
    what should i do??

    If you want 'environmental' reflections in your glass like this - http://asgvis.com/index.php?option=c...12516#msg12516
    then put a jpg (or better still a hdri) in the texture slot of the 'environment' roll-out.

    If you want distrorted reflections (you say 'bump' maps) then I don't know an easy way to do this. I would imagine you will have to adjust each pane of glass to create the distorted reflection - sounds like hard work!

      If you're trying to "distort" reflections, then bumps really aren't the best way to do it (or not where I would start at least). I don't know if its what you're looking for, but changing the reflection glossiness might be a good place to start. Do you have a reference image?

        sorry, i mean a photo not bump,look at my example below! the photo is not clear and doesn't located at the center. also the reflection of man is not seen.
        how can i change the size of photo?

          ola
          Because the glass does not reflect the side walls it does not appear to be very reflective. I do not used a linked material for glass; I just apply a vray glass.

          With the image in the 'environment' slot of the roll-out (Environment - background-envionment), with images from my camera I set the horizontal repeat to 5 and the vertical repeat to 3, and the mapping to 'spherical'. You may need to experiment for your own situation to get it to look right.
          Also when using the physical camera the bitmap multiplier needs to be set to about 50000 for it to show, however it doesn't look like you are using the physical camera, so leave the multiplier at 1.

          (Is the person a physical model or a cut-out?)
