    Double damn my tab key!

    Evening chaps,

I have produced a render using VRimage and then creating a OpenEXR file. Upon opening this in Photoshop it seems to have a high level of white wash out....if rendering on say 2000x? pixels the colors are fine! 5000x? well not too slick!

What would you guys recommend? maybe PS work? levels etc?

If it can be sorted out in the render settings this would be sweet.

    Hope someone can help out.

It has to do with gamma values, corrections, displays and profiles.

The short story is that its saved with a gamma of 1 and ps tries to display it with a gamma of 2.2 (or whatever you're profile is, which you probably haven't changed). So the image is actually fine, its just being displayed incorrectly. The solution is to Image> Adjustments> Exposure and from there change the gamma correction from 1 to .4545. After that it should display correctly.

The better way is to actually change the gamma in which certain image formats display. I don't remember how to do this though, so I'll get back to you on it.

I'm still not 100% sold on the idea, but okay. I've just messed around with a lot of stuff and talked to a lot of people about things...its just knowledge nothing else.
