        yes it's possible.
If u want I can send u the visopt and the vismat so you can see how it works

          Re: Water Caustics

getting caustics (by sun) at the pics I posted where easy.... but I a have problem with another scene. The pool is bigger and deeper. I use the same visopt and water material. Now I cranked up the caustics multiplier a bit. What other things will affect water caustics?

I read something about Photon emit disctance, search distance. But don't know how to set it?

          Anyone got a clue?

here's my best try so far:

this is what I would like to get:

p.s. I could also upload the scene if someone wants to take a look

              Re: Water Caustics

Photon emit distance - determines the distance of the area, in where photons would be shot. This area is represented by the green cyllinder around the Sun's ray vector. This parameter has effect when photons are used in the GI solutions or caustics.

this is what I found.... how do I know how large this area is?

                getting close.

Any suggestions to make it better?
It's too blurry, I want to get more sharp caustics.

Maybe make the water more clear? or use another bumpmap for the water?

Finally I'm registered (it was a hard task listen the letters)... oh well, could anyone post that sketchup model (at page 2) again? I've emailed dalomar asking that model, but he didn't answered me yet maybe he's busy.

                    Thanks!

                    (sorry for the bad english)

How can I control the transparency of the water?

I think the IOR number (index of refraction).
