  • Two questions about materials

    Quite a collection...

1.Is it possible to transform a regular VRayMtl to a VRayLinkedMtl? I import a lot of materials and still want to control UV mapping in sketchup - and only way I know to copy properties from VRayMtl to a VRayLinkedMtl is to rewrite them manually.
    Is there another way?

2.When i add new objects and assign them a sketchup material, a VRayLinkedMtl isn't assigned automatically. If these new objects are deep in groups/components hierarchy, then assigning materials requires opening each of them for edition - which is quite time-consuming. Is there any workaround?

    thank you in advance

    Re: Two questions about materials

The Service Release automatically links all SU materials with V-Ray materials. That should solve both your questions when it's released.
Please mention what V-Ray and SketchUp version you are using when posting questions.

        Re: Two questions about materials

A service release is basically a software update, but not significant enough to warrant a whole new version. Usually there is the connotation that the goal of a service release is more to fix certain issues then it is to add new features, although the actual adherence to that depends on the development habits of the company.
