Downloaded materials

Hello all, I am fairly new to Vray for sketchup and I have been browsing these forums for the past 2 days aquiring some very useful information.

One problem I have is that when I download a material from this site and use it in my model it just shows as a flat tone. I have made sure i have linked all the maps etc with the correct files and in the material editor preview the material shows up, but for some reason not in my model.

Any ideas? I have tried searching for an answer on here but couldn't find it, so i apologise if it has been answered before

I suspect that what you have done is to apply the vray material directly to your model, and thus the UV scale will need adjusting. Try setting the U and V to something like 0.01 and see if that helps. (preferred method, (see forum) is to apply material in sketchup and link it).

ah yes thankyou very much, that works! I will now search the other method you are talking about
