  • Creating depth in materials with bumpmaps

    Hello,
I'm trying to use bumpmaps to create depth in my materials but this doesnt work.

Imagine a cube of 25*25*25 m, with a bumpmap that has a pattern. It should create vertical stripes on this cube. In the material editor preview it perfectly shows the depth I want to achieve. However, when rendering with vray, it shows a smooth surface.

I tried to put lights on it, to create depth by shade, but this makes no difference. I tried to use the 'Vray for sketchup manual' and I looked in the materialoptions, as well the global options, but i couldn't find anything that could fix my problem.

What other possibilities should I look for in order to make the bumpmap work?

I hope someone can help me!

i guess you're using the wrong mapping. the texture is there but the map makes the texture too small or too big so it won't show up.

You really need to do this via a linked material. If the object has a material applied via sketchup, then you can just right click on it, go to Texture Mapping (or something like that), and move it around in a pretty easy way.
