  • Rendering models that have their texture included

I have some 3d people models I have imported from 3ds (from got3d.com).

When I open the file, they look ok, but when I render, it seems that VRay is looking for the texture in some temp folder I once made - but the texture is 'inside' the .skp file ?

Is there a smart way to fix this ?

    Thanks

I think I found a solution. I't seems to work, if I uncheck the 'use texture image' in the SU material, and then undo afterwards.

Odd- V-Ray should realize that they do not exist and extract them from the Skp file to our texture directory on disk. V-Ray itself can not use embedded textures in a skp file so we have to extract them for V-Ray to use them.

        hi, i experienced it too..

        here's my observation:
        1. after u click the render button, vray "spools" or extract the textures to ur temp folder. C:>Doc+settings>local settings> Temp folder.
so everytime you render, he'll look for textures there..however, u can copy those textures in temp to a new folder and relinked it from vray so he'll not look for it in temp..

        2. if u cant find the texture in temp, u can extract it in skp by exporting the file to .3ds..relink it to work..

        hope that helps.

Are you guys talking about V-Ray for SketchUp SR1? Or an older version?
